[00:00:02] Welcome to the Man Up Man Down podcast presented by Volker Ballueder and David Pawsey. We discuss the pressures and challenges faced by men approaching middle age that we're often too embarrassed to speak about with our friends. You can find us online at www.manupdown.com.
[00:00:24] Enjoy the show and don't forget to subscribe and leave us a review. Hi there, welcome to another episode of Man Up Man Down. So special episode today, gonna be a bit shorter, hopefully, hopefully not, I dunno.
[00:00:43] It's David and me, it's another solo duo episode and we just wanna wrap up Season 2. And before we came on, it was quite astonishing at least for me, I don't know David how you
[00:00:54] feel when I went, we wrestled off all the episodes, kind of like refresh our memory and I'm like, is that only this year? You know, it feels like we've done a shit ton of episodes.
[00:01:05] Yeah, well, I mean I think, I mean you obviously mentioned the live podcast, which was, well last November wasn't it? Yeah, life to quote for us Bueller, life moves pretty fast. And I can't believe that we're talking about the fact that it's Ender Season
[00:01:25] 2, especially when we got so much of Season 3 in the can already. Which you know, that's you know, I think the sort of the most exciting thing is, I dunno, like we're always building momentum but the momentum that our listeners see almost
[00:01:44] is you know, a good sort of six months behind where we are. Yeah, because we're so organised, we're so German. We, yeah, yeah, we're so organised. I mean, you're right. I think, you know, as we rattle through, right? We said there was an episode with Andy Deltafield, right?
[00:02:03] He came back for a second episode. You know, I really liked that one. We introduced Ian Sonders and we already recorded the second episode with Ian, which goes live in probably October time. And we already planning the third episode with Ian, right? Which probably goes live in Season 4.
[00:02:21] So we're gonna have reoccurring guests, which we think add a ton of value to our listeners and where we got great feedback as well. And the same with James Wilson, right? It's a sleep geek.
[00:02:34] You know, I don't believe we only just, we just recorded the second episode with him, which again, spoiler alert goes live in Season 3. But it feels ages ago that we, you know, recorded episode 1 and I thought was mind blowing.
[00:02:49] It didn't put me to sleep, let's put it this way. Yeah, on that note, I had a rubbish night's sleep last night. Safe. But I'm trying to monitor my cat. I've already had two coffees today and I was like, oh, I should have another one.
[00:03:04] I was like, no, it ends up... Still a decaf. It's still a decaf. It's a way forward. And yeah, I had a rubbish night's sleep. I stayed up after midnight, would you believe it? It's not me. Wow.
[00:03:16] I had to pick up the wife from the airport so the flight was delayed. I had to pre-sleep a couple hours. Then did the airport run, which was then delayed so it took longer. So I missed the gym this morning as well.
[00:03:29] I'm trying to evaporate later, I think. All your routines. I know. I know the window. It's crazy for me. So what episodes stood out for you in Season 2? I was hoping to ask you that question first but... I don't mind answering.
[00:03:49] Seeing as you've reminded me, we did actually interview in Season 2. To be honest, I'm looking at the list here and maybe we go through it. We started with Jill talking about post-sundry. I still think post-sundry is such an important topic to address and it comes up in episodes
[00:04:09] regularly. I loved the episode with Stan and Flanagan. I loved that episode. I loved what the guys are doing. As you know, I've been to a live event from theirs and it's just fantastic. Without treading on the toes of other conversations we'll have later in this episode.
[00:04:29] But I think what's quite amazing is we're seeing the growth of Dad LaSole and they've had coverage on the BBC. It's just really quite exciting to see a lot of the people that we've interviewed, how their profiles have increased since we interviewed them.
[00:04:53] Dan's another one where we definitely need to get him back. I think the great thing with Dad LaSole and the content that they share is that... Dan always seems to be learning. He's always posting things about, oh, well, so-and-so came along and we had this
[00:05:11] conversation and that made me realize XYZ. See, he introduced us to Taylor. Taylor came on when he just launched his business and we know a few weeks away that we actually have a sauna session with him, which I'm still thinking if he can record it or do something.
[00:05:32] To be honest, his episode, you asked me which one stood out. There's a lot that stood out. Mark Conway for starters, which is where we get him back on the next event in October.
[00:05:45] Jerry Cullona who has been an idol of mine ever since I listened to him on Tim Ferriss, having him on the podcast was like, oh, I've got a bit of an overseas. But people like Taylor will go on the podcast and be so brutally honest about his attempted
[00:06:03] suicide that I'm like, gee, these are men that they went through hell and they come out and they speak about it. And those are the heroes for me, I have to say. Well, you know, and again, like Taylor is someone else, he's profile has risen and again,
[00:06:21] I think it was through Dadless Soul, but his story was featured on the BBC as well. And I think it just shows the, well, I guess what we're about, which is obviously talking about these incredibly important things that men don't often talk about.
[00:06:42] It does seem that there is still a lot of work to do, but yeah, it does feel like things are improving and people are feeling that they can be more open and honest about the shit that goes on in their lives for want of a better phrase.
[00:07:03] And I mean, we shouldn't, you know, we know raising everybody's profile by going to the list, but I mean, they're all great guests, right? Let's face it, they all add something different. And if I think back of Ruth's episode with us talking about the menopause. Yeah.
[00:07:20] It's, you know, if you compare that to a Tyler episode or a Dadless Soul episode, completely different, but it adds so much flavour, right? I mean, such an education. I mean, again, spoiler alert, we have, you know, it's a spoiler alert, it's not a spoiler alert
[00:07:36] because this is going to be published after this episode. The episode I really like and, you know, we're going to get her back. It's Anita. Anita Malston, are we really fine men? Because I think that's a huge topic.
[00:07:51] I had a few people coming up to me already that we should cover that and I'm like, we are covering it. It's going live soon. I feel like we have a good mix in terms of, you know, what we're addressing in terms of topics as well.
[00:08:02] And I think, you know, I guess, you know, with that episode, the fact that it's it wasn't a couple of middle age men whining about the fact that they're you know, not seen in society or that we've got, you know, an unfair disadvantage.
[00:08:19] You know, it was the fact that actually, you know, the figures that she's quoting about, you know, access to medical care, education, basically, yeah, facts and figures about how men are behind women in a lot of areas is like, well, yeah, that's yeah, it was quite mind blowing.
[00:08:42] Hi, folks. It's Volker here. I hope you enjoy this week's episode. As you know, I coach executives, whether that is for leadership skills or for sales coaching or working as a therapist. There are a few ways I can help you to get unstuck, improve your work life balance
[00:09:00] and become a better version of yourself so you will be more productive and have more time for your family. Whatever it is you want to achieve, you can join my client list of people from General Electric, DHL or Pepsi.
[00:09:15] Book a free exploratory call via my website, www.opna.us. That's O-B-N-A-T dot US. Now back to the show. And there's this book, right, called Of Boys and Men by Richard Funleafs and a great book to read. I recommend it to everyone who's interested in that topic because,
[00:09:42] I mean, it's more US centric in terms of the stats around ethnic minorities or blacks and Hispanics in the US, but how men always are so disadvantaged from starting with our school system to jobs, careers, etc.
[00:09:56] So as a questionist, it's a pendulum swing too much the other way. You know? I'm not answering that question. I'm going to sit on the fence and let the listeners decide whether the pendulum swung too far or not. Because I have a thing about it.
[00:10:17] If we look at some other topics, and this is also to shout out to some of our amazing guests, we had a lot of personal stories in there. You know, starting with Swarth from Montague or Charlie Ho right? Or James Marriott as well.
[00:10:32] You know, then someone else I forgot just now, Glenn Binson, of course. I agree. Yeah, from well done. And Chris Stein. These are all, you know, yaran on being men. These are all very personal stories of how they how they see the world of being a man
[00:10:51] and we have nuances in all these stories and what has changed. And I think it's fantastic to see that. And for me, every one of those is a highlight. So it's less than about it's a pendulum swing too much one way or another.
[00:11:07] As someone, I'm not going to name said to me, you know what, folk, think about it. What white, white middle aged men have dominated this world for many, many years, right? Now is our turn to do it.
[00:11:19] And the person isn't wrong, but we need to also have a balance. Right now, I would say that as a white middle aged man. Of course, I would. But now I'm rambling a little bit. But the more I study for my psychology degree,
[00:11:34] the more I realize a lot of the theories we're learning are white middle aged blokes that probably had some issues themselves. You know, I mean, look at Freud, you know, look, you know, even Adler, right? I'm just starting to learn about Adler or young, right?
[00:11:49] I mean, shagging his clients. There's something there where I'm going like, wait a second, are we forming our world around those people's views? But maybe that's going too far now. Sorry. Now, who was it though that we was this a conversation we had on the podcast?
[00:12:06] Was it one that hasn't been done for season three? But it was basically saying about, was it James? Yeah. So it was James Sleep Geek when he sort of said that a lot of medical experiments over the years have been conducted. Well, you know, it's been male.
[00:12:24] What's the word? As I said, bad night's sleep last night. So my mind keeps going blank, but basically saying that the yeah, the selection, often, you know, a lot of a lot of the test pool or whatever you want to call it was men.
[00:12:42] So we've got all these medical experiments that are skewed because it was always male participants. And at another spoiler alert season three, we're going to have Katrina Colley on. It's going to be an interesting episode for some because she,
[00:13:02] she, she, I think she had a little bit in that direction as well in terms of male dominance, right? From memory. So there's, there's something there. Yeah, we've got lots, lots of great stuff. I know we recorded a lot of it already, but there's some great stuff
[00:13:15] come, you know, trauma, kind mind method, which we recorded ages ago, which we couldn't fit into season two. Unfortunately, we have suicide prevention. So that's, that's another one which we recorded quite a while ago. So yeah, I'm looking forward to season three already.
[00:13:35] So we should start planning season four now, shouldn't we? Well, I think, you know, the obviously, well, the elephant in the room. We obviously had to postpone our live event due to probably bad planning and poorer execution on my part.
[00:13:51] But yeah, you know, that's obviously, you know, something that we are still working on. Hopefully, well, maybe perhaps by the time this episode goes out, we'll have some news in that space. But well, yes, now would probably be a very good moment to say,
[00:14:08] make sure that you go on our website, man up down.com, subscribe to the newsletter, obviously subscribe to the podcast, leave us some reviews and feedback. But yeah, if you sign up to the newsletter, then you'll be right up to date with everything we've got planned coming up.
[00:14:24] But yeah, I mean, obviously we touched on Mark, touched Mark. Yeah, I mean, like, we lit it. Yeah, we had a hug. Yeah, I mean, that was, you know, sort of for me, perhaps, you know, pinnacle in terms of human adversity and, you know, storytelling.
[00:14:47] I mean, yeah, an incredible guy. But yeah, he, you know, if you haven't listened to that episode, check it out. But yeah, you know, like Mark sort of, you know, we've met up with him now and had a few few conversations with him.
[00:15:02] But yeah, I mean, you know, like, I think once once we do actually get the live event going, you know, is he's an incredible person to listen to and to meet.
[00:15:14] So yeah, I was going to say, put that in your diaries, but we don't have a date yet. It will be sometime in October. In London. It'll be, yeah, most likely early October in London. And you know, decisions are always team effort. So it's not all your fault.
[00:15:29] So I'm certainly not pointing any fingers. So but yeah, looking forward to the live event. She would have to couple more from season two. I'm just, you know, looking at it. Talk Club, that was a good episode. Yeah. It was a nice one. Yeah.
[00:15:43] And you know, and again, I believe that was only season two. I thought it was season one. I know. But that's the thing when you've sort of gone through and said, well, you know, this is my God, was that, you know, is that this season still?
[00:15:54] Because it does feel like, well, I guess that one was that one we recorded around this time? Probably this year. Yeah. Some of the best things last year. But, you know, then we have touched a lot on burnout and life crisis,
[00:16:08] you know, with Sean Paul Davis and Katie Maycock. And I think burnout is something we got to cover more and more. I think it's just going to come up more and more, unfortunately, especially for middle-aged men. So there's a constant hustling and bustling.
[00:16:22] You know, and I think again, that's kind of the, I don't know if I want to say theme, but I feel like the sort of the eye opener, I guess, perhaps is a better word. The bad mental health can be caused by, you know,
[00:16:39] sort of just a little bit more pressure that's continuous, you know, as opposed to a major life changing event. So, you know, and I think I think sometimes, you know, men can think, well, actually, my problems aren't that bad.
[00:16:55] So I don't I don't need to reach out to anyone. And, you know, the thing is this, I will, if something's sort of grinding you down, even if it feels something that's relatively insignificant, the fact is it's grinding you down. So you should share and talk about it.
[00:17:12] So another couple, we need to be one to mention, I want to mention them all anyway, right? But it is burnout. It's a bit of the spoiling frog syndrome. So there's a post coming or by the time this is live,
[00:17:24] there will be a post on my LinkedIn as well. And it was actually Gavin who I stayed in touch with. He so we catch up regularly and he says, you know, if you get used to your 40s, 60s, 80s hours a week, right?
[00:17:36] And then it probably doesn't take much to literally boil it over, right? So it's it's it's literally a hot topic, right? Especially if we think in that terms. Well, so we have Roderick from Roderick. Really interesting in terms of losing weight. Stuart Wallace, the Lines Barber Collective,
[00:17:53] which I think unfortunately shut its doors, right this year. Yeah, you know, that was, yeah, that was quite, quite sort of sad to hear, you know, something that the office, you know, well, we've talked about a lot and sort of something that I often raise,
[00:18:08] you know, is, well, is it down to, you know, the private sector to pick up the slack from, you know, the NHS when it comes to mental health? But, you know, it goes to show, well, even, you know, like private initiatives still, you know, still need funding.
[00:18:24] And if that funding is not available, unfortunately, yeah, it gets closed down. And, you know, perhaps, you know, is that I was going to say, is that something that we perhaps want to look at, you know, how can,
[00:18:36] how can you, you know, raise funding for your private initiatives? But yeah, I'm going to shut up because that's going to, that's going to take us down another rabbit hole. But I mean, and I think one that really stood out for me,
[00:18:53] band of brothers with Bernie, you know, like obviously the work that they do is incredible anyway. Well, I mean, I think for anyone who hasn't heard the episode, it it sort of started off sort of helping young men coming out
[00:19:11] of prison, you know, helping them adjust to life. But now, you know, they're sort of the organisation has grown. So there's now a bit more sort of intervention earlier on. But it is providing like good male role models for boys slash men
[00:19:28] that haven't got that kind of figure in their lives. But but yeah, I mean, like the reason Bernie went into it was because, you know, his daughter was the victim of a horrific crime. And I think the fact that he, you know, it's like, well,
[00:19:46] you could be angry and bitter about it. Or, you know, you can do what Bernie did, which was turn that around. And I don't know, use that for a positive path and help ensure that the others in that demographic don't fall into crime and don't commit
[00:20:09] the kind of horrific things that happen to his daughter. I think that there was a very deep episode. I really enjoyed that one. That was a good one. There were two episodes as you actually need to point them out.
[00:20:20] And I think that we mentioned them all as well. Actually, we've, you know, there's one more to come. I need to mention, but there were two episodes I need to mention where I felt literally, at least at one, I felt completely on the
[00:20:31] sideline. On the other one, I felt a little bit on the sideline. One was Caroline Williams. Yeah, I thought that would be the one. I thought that was great episode, but it went totally over my head. I think I think we should have recorded that as a video
[00:20:46] because I think I was just sitting there like a ping pong ball and like what's the fucks going on? But great episode. And I felt similar with the football one. Oh, yeah. I was just on the sidelines there. Yeah, I mean, well, yeah.
[00:21:03] And sadly, you know, I still still not in a position to get back to to man be fat football. Still? Yeah, now it's going to be another six to 12 months of recovery before a complete football. Maybe you shouldn't. Well, yeah. Yeah.
[00:21:19] If I decide, yeah, I don't think we'll be going back to football. Man Up Man Down is sponsored by Well Doing. As someone who has seen a counsellor for a number of years, I think their approach is great.
[00:21:30] They want you to find the mental health professional who is right for you. You can feel to your search to highlight therapists with expertise where you need it or you can pay to use their personalised matching service.
[00:21:40] The people who run Well Doing are experts in mental well being and they also have loads of posts and interviews to keep your mental health in good shape. Take a look at Well Doing.org because I've been part of that organisation, you know, I'm sort of slightly biased.
[00:21:56] But yeah, it's just amazing to see that they're, you know, they're starting up in the States, which again, Dad LaSole, they're starting up in the States, you know, it's just great. Are they? Sort of. Yeah, it's just great. I think you should call it a state.
[00:22:12] I know. David, what do you think? You and you and I, Route 66 on an old Harley? Well, again, spoiler alert. We have have been receiving some some interesting offers to appear on other podcasts, one, one which is stateside. But yeah, we'll leave it at that for now.
[00:22:33] OK, but I don't know what you're talking about. How you do? What did I miss? No, no, you have been informed. Have I? What did I miss now? OK, spoiler alert, even I don't know what's going on. But yeah, anyway, it has been invited to other shows, right?
[00:22:51] You've been on a panel. Don't forget that. That was another example. Yeah, by an amazing panel by one of our events sponsors as well. Right, we can say that again. Great work, those guys do, given given the state of the NHS.
[00:23:04] So I'm talking about Newman, so Newman Mental Health. So big shout out to Luke and you know what? How he explained erectile dysfunction. Unlike this all makes sense. You know, it was like, you know, explain to five year old, you know, how it works.
[00:23:19] You know, if you can't get it out, it might not be a problem that you can't get it out. It might just be a problem with your heart. So go and check it out. And I'm like, Jesus, I never made that link, right?
[00:23:30] I don't think of my penis and go like, oh, he said he's not working. I don't know if I should personify him. But, you know, that means my heart has a problem, right? I go like, oh, he's not working.
[00:23:40] I take a pill and everything's going to be fine. Yeah. So so from that perspective, I think to raise awareness and, you know, in such a, if I say, literally, cool headed way, we've got that across. Great, great episode again. Just just really love to love the event.
[00:23:56] You talk about the event. Yeah, I mean, you know, and that was, you know, a great, great honor. And well, you know, yeah, great honor to be to be invited to, you know, to that event and sort of meet.
[00:24:10] Meet people in the industry that are sort of, again, you know, making incredible strides in men's physical and mental health. You know, perhaps now is a good time to say that I've actually been, you know, and paying for it.
[00:24:24] It's not a freebie, but I've been using Newman's weight loss program. And I've lost three kilos since I got back from holiday. So great. Great. I'm not going to say what I started at, but yeah, I mean,
[00:24:42] so I think suffice to say that the months of not exercising have sort of caught up with me slightly. Yeah, I haven't seen you for a while. No, curious, but yeah, we can discuss it offline.
[00:24:56] But yeah, you know, so sort of, you know, to be invited to that event and, you know, make some incredible contacts, which, you know, still need to follow up. But yeah, again, it's like, right, already, you know, it was basically being introduced to five or six people that,
[00:25:12] you know, a tailor made for our podcast. Yeah, it is, you know, and again, sort of think obviously we peered on in Figo's print pod podcast, which has gone out quite recently. I mean, well, for me, particularly, you know, it sort of
[00:25:31] well, as I said at the panel, you know, I was surrounded by all these medical experts and I got a double F in science GCSE. So, you know, I don't see myself as an expert, but you know,
[00:25:43] I guess it's just so nice to be regarded by these experts as an expert. But you weren't a science expert, but you know, we've done, you know, that's another spoiler alert actually. Come on, let's throw out some spoiler alerts here. Go on. See you next season.
[00:26:01] We're going to hit 100 episodes. Yeah, that's not a spoiler. No, I know it's not a spoiler, but you know, think about that. We have pre-recorded quite a few. So you can call yourself an expert in mental health after 100 episodes of menopment down. Yeah, yeah. That's there to see.
[00:26:19] Yeah, well, which probably, probably brings us onto the book. But it's actually in, it's being written and edited as we speak. So yeah, I don't know, fingers crossed, you know, it'll be available for Santa to slip into your stocking at Christmas. Christmas 2025. Oh, really? 24. I don't know.
[00:26:44] We'll see. I think it's probably Christmas 2025. To be honest, I don't think we're going to write it in the next three months. Yeah. But yeah, so the book is next. And I'm still wondering, maybe we can have a poll from our listeners or reach out with these ideas.
[00:27:04] But we're still thinking about SWECH, right? Should we get some menopment down? Mux printers with our faces on them? Oh, I think I'm a constant reminder. Our mugs on the mug. But yeah, yeah. Now, I think that's what. Well, actually, when? Said a step too far.
[00:27:24] I don't know. I think I think it's it's the only thing that's going to avert World War Three is the man up man down merch being pumped out to the masses. Yeah, just just put our face on Piccadilly Square, right? Yeah. And Tom Square. Yeah.
[00:27:42] That would that's a dream, right? Is it? I don't know. Well, yeah, like the dream is to be seen as, you know, experts and authorities on on, you know, middle-aged men's health on middle-aged men. So, yeah, you know, if if if that results in off pieces being
[00:28:03] being on billboards around the world, then, you know, so be it. I you know what? I don't know. I don't know why I'm actually seeing that. But, you know, having always been ambitious in my business career.
[00:28:16] Right. I think I think if I ever get on a billboard like Piccadilly or Times Square, or maybe it's smaller one somewhere in Brighton, right? Once was men up men down crime. What's the cat's humanity? Yeah, for men up men down podcast, I'd be absolutely fucking delighted.
[00:28:34] And that selfie goes everywhere, trust me, you're going to see it everywhere. They they I mean, it's always we have big goals for next year, right? Some of the happened in the making. So as I say, the second life event is a hundred episodes.
[00:28:49] We recorded, as I say, we probably recorded close to 100 soon anyway. We we're well track. So we need to get more listeners. We always need to get more listeners. We need to get more people, as you say, right? Hitting the follow button, giving us good reviews.
[00:29:03] So, you know, it's a big supermarket always says, right? Every little helps. So if you can just, you know, press a button like us shared, shared with your friends, shared on LinkedIn, shared on Instagram, shared shared shared on billboards, right?
[00:29:17] As Tim Ferriss always say, you know, if you had one thing you want to write on a billboard for everyone to see, just say, listen to men up men down, right? The podcast for middle-aged men. That's that's what I would answer to Tim Ferriss.
[00:29:31] But I think, you know, they lost your goals. But, you know, we I think we are on track for them. And as we always say, if we can save one life, right? It's, you know, our job is done, right? That's all I want to do.
[00:29:43] And I think, you know, I think the feedback that we we're getting. And as I say, you know, being invited, you know, to these events, you know, it shows the I think, well, yeah, it shows of the appetite for the podcast is there.
[00:29:59] I guess, you know, we just we'll just keep on doing it. So hopefully people keep listening. Yeah. Yeah. And and as a shame, last shameless plaque for me, we need more sponsors as well. It's a moment we still pay it all out of David's pocket.
[00:30:14] But he's losing weight now, so that's good. So his pockets getting bigger. Exactly. Yeah. It's all right. No, but on a serious note, we still we're always happy for donations, you know, ever so small. We're happy to put logos up, promote you guys, mention you, you know.
[00:30:31] So yeah, if you can if you can win a couple more sponsors over that would be would be amazing. And yeah, so we're looking for I'm looking forward to season three. You still haven't said which one was your favorite episode of season two made? Um, yeah, nice.
[00:30:48] Ah, yeah, no, I couldn't tune. I mean, as I say, I think, you know, Bernie's one. Like that was one that I sort of I was thinking about for several days afterwards. Yeah. I mean, well, the Caroline Williams one. Yeah, that was great.
[00:31:04] The talk club one, you know, and and I think, you know, that's the frustrating part for me. And, you know, and I guess also on that same sort of element of burn out. But, you know, it's like, as you say, you've been down to the dad,
[00:31:22] the soul event, you know, and I'm like, I need to get to dad, so I need to get to talk club again. There's all these like people that we meet and it's like, I really need to catch up with them, you know, and go and support them.
[00:31:34] But then it's like, actually, we only have, you know, finite time in our week. We can only fit so much in. So, you know, it's it's, you know, we'll get around to some of these.
[00:31:46] See some of these people, which is obviously the fact that I can walk now means that I can hopefully start getting out and about a bit more. But yeah, you know, it's that thing of. Yeah, you can't beat yourself up if you can't fit in everything
[00:32:02] that you want to fit in your life. Anyway, I think that's a nice closing note. That's my last closing note other than, you know, thanks very much to the other thing. All our sponsors, you know, everyone that listens. Yeah, the feedback that we get.
[00:32:19] Please keep sending us emails telling us what you think. We want to get the hardest geezer on. There's a few people we want to get on. We want to get the hardest geezer on. So if anyone knows him personally, yeah, please, please try and get him
[00:32:33] in contact with us. We have tried reaching out to him through various means, but he's obviously a busy guy. Yeah. And, you know, if there's anyone else that you think fits the bill, please get them in contact with us.
[00:32:46] Yeah. And we almost forgot to mention one podcast about their one life last week. You know, a tie off this going life because it's another sort of provoking one and I'm just remembering it because I read an article on the BBC I sent you right about people.
[00:33:00] Yeah, Justin's one year. Yeah. But the reason I found that link just now is because there's another man I would like to get on a chap called James Cooper who run a marathon or runs
[00:33:11] a marathon every day and he's a time of recording just half way through the year. You know, these are all West Sussex local heroes. This is a story to to increase awareness for men's mental health.
[00:33:22] So if anyone knows him, please give us a shout out there as well. And yeah, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. That's that's all that's left to say. Enjoy your summer. We're going to take a little bit of a break.
[00:33:36] We don't even record in August, although there might be something coming. We just discussed it. Anyway, we've got to keep busy over the summer, of course, but we also take some time off and new episode.
[00:33:48] I think our season starter will be as early as say 1st of September, 5th of September, kind of that kind of date. And then we have suicide prevention day on the 10th of September. It's an episode going live that week. Talk about suicide.
[00:34:06] So anyway, that's our bit of a sad note. Yeah, not scary things to look forward to. Yeah. So enjoy the great British weather. Enjoy. I say enjoy the Euro Cup. As a time this goes live, Germany would have won it. Not that I care much about football.
[00:34:23] There'll be a new government. I'll be a new government in. There will be a new government. And a new prime minister and maybe a new US candidate as well. Who knows? Yeah. Well, the world doesn't stop. I think that's what David tries to say. Exactly. Yeah.
[00:34:42] But yeah, I've just realised that there's one person I haven't said thank you to and that's you, Volker. So, you know, especially over, you know, over the last few months, you know, thanks for taking me out, buying me dinner.
[00:34:56] But yeah, you know, and just thanks for, you know, constantly driving the podcast forward. Oh, David, I don't I didn't prepare a speech for you. So I give you I give you a hug later. But yeah, thank you. Just going to get my face as your latest tattoo.
[00:35:16] That's all I ask. Oh, you want to talk about tattoos again? He said we want to do 30 minutes. We're close to 40 now. I do have a tattoo that says everything changes. Nothing stays constant. All right. And every recently got some coys to it as well.
[00:35:31] So it's a bigger piece, but I'm done now. Well, it's no space for me is what you're saying. Yeah, maybe I get you on my bum somewhere. Somewhere on your phone. Right. Anyway, along that note. I'm so listening. Thanks for listening to this week's episode.
